Once again fall is here...turtle necks...mhhm...the cool breezes...mmhhmm...hot apple cider..mmmhhmmm...raking leaves into piles and jumping on them. Since this is our first fall together as a married couple, we were sitting around one lazy Sunday afternoon when a light bulb went off in our heads. We decided to put on our favorite turtleneck (in Dana's case, a dickie), throw some hot apple cider in the microwave for a minute and enjoy God's creation by venturing outside to rake the leaves from all the trees in our yard. After we started making piles of poop, I mean leaves, we noticed we don't have any trees, yet the yard is full of these happy, colorful, little......dead, stupid pieces of folliage tree waste crap. If you'll notice in the picture above, our yard on the left and Ismet's yard on the right.....WITH THE TREE. But the mystery is.......why are all of his leaves in our yard?
We know....it's really no mystery at all. But as we stood, once excited to rake the first leaves in our new home, we soon became slightly aggravated because of Ismet's early Christmas present to us, especially since his yard was freshly primped earlier and leaf free. So, we started brainstorming and we came up with a few ideas of ways to get rid of the mess.
A) Carefully rake the leaves, bag them and haul the bags to the Kentwood city landfill like the average good person would do.
B) Rake the leaves into piles near the fence and hurl the leaves over into Ismet's yard with a snowblower.
C) Learn to speak Bosnianese, march over to Ismet's front yard, yell at him until he comes out and say "why don't you just pick up those leaves!"
Since, we lost ambition to bag and haul the leaves to the dump and we certainly didn't feel like learning Bosnianese, we decided on option B
