Number 1... we finished foster parenting classes and turned in all our paperwork. Now we wait for our application to be processed and for the licensing worker to come out to our place! Time to get some baby and kid items!
Number 2... the lawn is now hydro-seeded! we should start seeing some green growth in the yard instead of all the dirt in a few weeks. the down side is that it takes about 2-3 hours to water the entire front and back EVERY day. Ugh!
Number 3... the state has issued furlough days (for those of you who have never heard that word before, it's a nice way of saying unpaid days off) for DHS employees. so, I will be getting 6 unpaid days off from now until the end of September. I can't complain about not working in the summer, it's the no pay part that stinks. on a positive note, I still have a job I enjoy.
Number 4... Dana's place of employment is going down to 32 hour work weeks starting in mid-July. so, he will have 4 days of work a week until things pick up at the lab for him. again, we're thankful he has a job still.
Number 5... the same week we found out about my furlough days and Dana's 32 hour work weeks, we were also approached by our neighbors at the other house... their good friends who live around the corner from us (at the other house) had a house fire that burned the entire inside of the home and they were looking for a place to rent in the area while their house was gutted and re-done. could it have been more perfect?! God is definitely watching out for us financially. we feel very blessed to have renters.
Number 6... this has been an amazing month for adoption finalizations at work. I've been blessed to work with some incredible families who have an undying love to care for children who need families. it's such amazing work.
Number 7... we have a wonderful house church group who have blessed us over and over. we are thankful for their generosity, love and excitement for us as we move into this next phase of life.
